Job summary

Placements24 in East London is seeking an Aquatics Centre Supervisor to manage the daily operations of the swimming facilities. You will ensure a safe and enjoyable environment for all patrons and supervise lifeguards and pool attendants.

The role requires strong leadership and excellent communication, with responsibilities including water quality management, program development, and emergency response coordination.

Qualifications

• Must hold valid Lifeguarding certification.
• Must hold CPR/First Aid certification.
• At least supervisory experience in aquatics or pool management.
• Strong knowledge of pool operations, water chemistry and safety procedures.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays in East London.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day operations of the aquatics centre and maintain a safe environment.
• Supervise, train, and schedule lifeguards and pool attendants.
• Ensure health, safety and water quality standards compliance.
• Manage pool maintenance schedules, testing and chemical balancing.
• Develop aquatic programs, including swimming lessons, water aerobics and events.
• Respond to emergencies, administer first aid, and coordinate with emergency services.
