Placements24 in Upington is seeking an experienced Aquatics Centre Manager to oversee operations at a premier facility. You will lead staff, ensure safety and cleanliness, manage aquatic programming, facility maintenance, and budget, and promote the centre as a hub for health, fitness, and recreation for the community.

The role demands proven leadership in staff management, strong knowledge of pool operations and water chemistry, and current lifeguard certification with First Aid/CPR.

Qualifications

• Proven experience managing an aquatic facility or similar leisure centre.
• Strong knowledge of pool operations, water chemistry and safety protocols.
• Current lifeguard certification and First Aid/CPR qualifications.
• Demonstrated leadership and staff management skills.
• Excellent customer service and communication abilities.
• Experience in budget management and program development is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Manage all daily operations of the aquatics centre, including pool maintenance, water quality, and safety procedures.
• Develop, implement, and promote aquatic programs, such as swimming lessons, aqua fitness, and competitive teams.
• Recruit, train, schedule, and supervise lifeguards, swim instructors, and facility attendants.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and emergency regulations, conducting regular safety audits.
• Manage the centre's budget, controlling expenses and identifying revenue enhancement opportunities.
• Maintain positive relationships with patrons, community groups, and relevant governing bodies.
