Placements24 is placing Apprentice Chefs for a renowned restaurant in Paarl, Western Cape, ZA. This full-time, on-site apprenticeship provides hands-on training in all aspects of culinary arts, from food preparation and cooking techniques to kitchen hygiene and station management, under expert mentors in a busy kitchen.

We seek individuals with a love for food, a strong work ethic and a commitment to culinary excellence.

Qualifications

Genuine interest in culinary arts and a passion for cooking.
Willingness to learn under senior chefs and adapt to routines.
Ability to work long hours in a fast-paced kitchen.
Legal eligibility to work in South Africa.

Responsibilities

Assist in ingredient prep, including chopping vegetables and preparing sauces.
Learn and execute various cooking techniques under supervision.
Prepare dishes according to established recipes and quality standards.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen workspace and equipment.
Adhere to strict food safety and sanitation protocols.
Monitor food stock levels and assist with inventory management.
Support senior chefs during service, ensuring timely and accurate meal preparation.
Learn about different culinary styles and flavour profiles.
Contribute to menu development ideas and specials preparation.
Participate in cleaning and closing duties of the kitchen.
