Job summary

Air Connect is seeking an Airport Assistant to provide frontline support within our airport operations team in Cape Town. You will assist with check-in, passenger service, and terminal upkeep, ensuring smooth and courteous service to travelers and colleagues.

The role requires a High School diploma, strong communication, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, including weekends and holidays, with good teamwork and attention to detail.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Previous customer service or airport-related experience preferred.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle high pressure.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Flexible hours including weekends and holidays are required.
• Basic computer skills or familiarity with airport systems is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the check-in process for passengers and baggage.
• Provide assistance to passengers with special needs or requirements.
• Monitor and maintain cleanliness and organization of the terminal.
• Handle customer inquiries and complaints professionally and promptly.
• Coordinate with other airport departments to ensure efficient operations.
• Assist with boarding process and ensure passengers are accounted for.
• Monitor flight schedules and communicate changes or delays.
• Conduct security checks and screenings as required.
• Assist with loading and unloading of baggage and cargo.
• Maintain accurate records of passenger and flight information.
• Adhere to safety and security protocols at all times.
