Air Connect in Durban, South Africa is seeking a motivated Airport Assistant to join our team on a permanent basis. You will help ensure smooth airport operations and provide a positive passenger experience.

Responsibilities include greeting passengers, check-in, coordinating with ground staff, handling inquiries, and maintaining terminal cleanliness. Flexibility for shifts, strong communication, and security clearance are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Customer service or airport operations experience preferred.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Attention to detail and multitasking ability.
• Flexible hours including evenings, weekends, holidays.
• Background check and airport security clearance required.

Responsibilities

• Greet and assist passengers at the airport, delivering excellent customer service.
• Check-in passengers and luggage with proper documents.
• Coordinate with ground staff to ensure timely boarding and departures.
• Monitor flight schedules and inform passengers of changes.
• Resolve passenger issues professionally.
• Assist with loading/unloading luggage and cargo.
• Maintain a clean terminal and report maintenance issues.
• Follow safety and security protocols for passengers and staff.
• Provide support to other departments as needed.
