Job summary

EdUpStairs is seeking a patient administration lead to oversee staff, ensure UPFS compliance, and develop robust patient systems for CHC/Hospital quality standards.

You will manage revenue collection, reporting cycles, risk plans, and service delivery initiatives while developing the team and optimizing resource use.

Qualifications

  • Grade 12 with 3–5 years’ experience in patient administration.
  • Valid driver’s license Code 8/10.
  • Certificate in Record Management.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience in patient administration procedures.
  • Sound knowledge of Public Finance Management Act, Treasury instruction, UPFS and money handling.
  • Supervisory and leadership skills.
  • Organizing, planning and problem‑solving skills.
  • Interpersonal skills.
  • Computer literacy.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct employee’s performance review and compile report.
  • Supervise staff and ensure proper implementation of EPMDS.
  • Ensure implementation of UPFS through proper assessment of patient.
  • Develop, implement and maintain patient administration systems and services for the CHC/Hospital to ensure quality standards are met.
  • Assist with the collection and verification of patient related information/statistics and the development of reports in support of accurate and timeous management reporting processes.
  • Supervise and control the safekeeping of patient records and patient valuables.
  • Develop, implement and monitor measures designated to optimize the collection of revenue.
  • Ensure preparation and submission of financial reports/returns on monthly basis and perform month end/year end process.
  • Develop, implement and monitor risk management plans.
  • Participate in service delivery program.
  • Develop, implement and monitor measures aimed at reducing waiting time.
  • Implement discipline and guidance.
  • Ensure effective efficient and economical utilization of resources allocated to the component including the development of staff.
