EdUpStairs in Cape Town is seeking an Asset Management Officer to support the finance team in maintaining the organization’s asset register and compliance with PFMA policies.

The role requires a Senior Certificate with Mathematics or Accounting, asset management experience, and strong MS Office skills; responsibilities include asset counts, disposal of obsolete items, and barcoding.

Qualifications

• Senior Certificate (or equivalent) with Mathematics and/or Accountancy as a passed subject.
• Asset management experience.
• Knowledge of PFMA, National Provincial Treasury regulations and Policies.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills.
• Computer literacy: MS Office (Excel, Word and PowerPoint).

Responsabilités

• Partake in the annual asset count and adcoc inspections.
• Disposal of redundant, absolete and unserviceable items in accordance with policies.
• Barcoding and tracking of all assets.
• Updating and maintenance of the asset register with regard to equipment purchased, donated, transfers and disposals.
• Assist with the implementation of relevant asset management policies.

Requirements

• Minimum educational qualification: Senior Certificate (or equivalent) with Mathematics and/or Accountancy as a passed subject and /or Senior Certificate with experience/competencies that focus on the Key Performance Areas (KRA’s) of the post.


• Experience: Appropriate asset management experience.


• Competencies (knowledge/skills): Knowledge of the Public Finance Management Act (PFMA), National Provincial Treasury regulations and Policies.


• Good interpersonal and communication skills.


• Computer literacy (MS Office: Excel, word and PowerPoint).
