Job summary

The Department of Cultural Affairs and Sport within the Western Cape Government seeks a competent Supply Chain Management Clerk: Asset Management in Cape Town to render clerical SCM support, and to update and maintain asset registers and assist with disposals as required.

The role demands accuracy, data capture and the ability to work with BAS/Logis and procurement policies; travel may be required to fulfil duties and meet department objectives.

Qualifications

• Supply chain and asset management knowledge.
• Asset management guidelines and policies.
• PPPFA and B-BBEE understanding.
• Document management / ECM experience.

Responsibilities

• Render asset management clerical tasks.
• Update and maintain asset registers.
• Assist with BAS/Logis monthly reconciliations.
• Identify and dispose of redundant, non-serviceable and obsolete assets.
• Request quotations for asset acquisitions and disposals.
• Monitor, analyse and determine actions for asset disposal management.
• Provide support to line function.
• Conduct asset verifications (stock-take).
