About the Role

Our client is seeking a diligent and experienced Accounts Payable Supervisor to lead their AP team in Kimberley, Northern Cape, ZA . This role is responsible for overseeing the entire accounts payable process, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices, payments, and expense reimbursements. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, a thorough understanding of AP best practices, and a commitment to maintaining excellent vendor relationships. You will be instrumental in implementing efficient AP procedures and ensuring compliance with company policies. Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and mentor the Accounts Payable team, ensuring efficient workflow and timely task completion.
• Oversee the processing of all vendor invoices, purchase orders, and employee expense reports.
• Ensure accurate coding, verification, and approval of invoices before payment.
• Manage the timely and accurate disbursement of payments to vendors.
• Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies promptly.
• Maintain the integrity of the vendor master file.
• Develop, implement, and enforce AP policies and procedures.
• Monitor and manage the AP aging report.
• Assist with month-end closing activities related to accounts payable.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and automation within the AP function.
• Ensure compliance with internal controls and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent; a degree or diploma in Accounting or Finance is advantageous.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in Accounts Payable, with at least 1-2 years in a supervisory or lead role.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and accounts payable procedures.
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks) and Microsoft Excel.
• Excellent organizational, time management, and leadership skills.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills for effective vendor and internal stakeholder interactions.
• Ability to resolve complex AP issues.
• Experience with process improvement initiatives is a plus.
• Knowledge of tax requirements related to AP (e.g., VAT) is beneficial.
