Job summary

Execustaff Recruiting Services is seeking an Accounts Payable Specialist to join a prominent retail group in a hybrid/remote-capable role based in Cape Town. You will manage the full AP cycle, process invoices accurately, and maintain strong vendor relationships within a collaborative finance team.

The ideal candidate has 2-3 years in AP, proficiency in Xero, and strong Excel skills, with excellent attention to detail and deadline-oriented work ethic.

Qualifications

• 2-3 years of experience in accounts payable or similar finance role.
• Proficiency in Xero accounting software.
• Intermediate Excel skills and spreadsheet management.
• Matric and a finance-related qualification.
• Strong time-management and organisational abilities.
• High accuracy and attention to detail; deadlines met.
• Basic understanding of financial reporting principles.

Responsibilities

• Process all vendor invoices accurately and efficiently with proper coding.
• Manage the full accounts payable cycle from receipt to payment.
• Perform three-way matching of invoices, POs, and receiving reports.
• Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies promptly.
• Prepare weekly payment runs via EFT or other methods.
• Maintain vendor master files and respond to inquiries professionally.
• Assist with month-end closing procedures related to AP.
• Identify process improvements within accounts payable.
