Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a 5G Network Planning Engineer based in Richards Bay, KwaZulu-Natal. The role focuses on strategy, design, and deployment of a cutting-edge 5G network with hybrid work options.

You will lead RF planning, site surveys, and performance analysis to optimize coverage, capacity, and reliability while staying aligned with industry standards and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum of 4 years of mobile network planning experience with 5G RAN.
• Proficiency with 5G NR standards and air interface tech.
• Experience with RF planning tools such as Atoll, Planet, or similar.
• Strong RF fundamentals, propagation modeling, and optimization knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Develop and refine plans for 5G network expansion and densification.
• Conduct site surveys to identify optimal base station locations.
• Perform RF planning and optimisation using planning tools.
• Analyse network performance data for improvements and capacity upgrades.
• Ensure designs meet regulatory and quality standards.
