The role requires strong RF engineering knowledge, experience with Atoll and Planet, and the ability to analyze drive tests and performance metrics. A hybrid work model with occasional office presence in Richards Bay is offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Telecommunications Engineering.
• Minimum 6 years in RF planning and design in telecoms.
• Proficiency with RF planning tools (Atoll, Planet).
• Strong knowledge of 2G/3G/4G/LTE and 5G.
• Understanding of propagation, antennas, and interference.
• Experience with drive tests and data analysis.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop long-term and short-term RF network plans for capacity, coverage, and upgrades.
• Utilise RF planning tools (e.g., Atoll, Planet) for site acquisition and simulations.
• Analyze drive test data and network performance to identify optimizations.
• Conduct RF site surveys and feasibility studies for new installations.
• Collaborate with RF design and optimization teams to implement plans.
• Perform interference analysis and mitigation to maintain quality.
• Stay current with RF engineering trends and mobile network planning.
• Prepare reports and presentations for management.
