Laboratory Technician Jobs in San Jose

Adecco Healthcare & Life Sciences is seeking a Laboratory Technician to join a dynamic clinical laboratory team. Palo Alto, CA

• 2+ years of college education in biology or a related field plus 3+ years of laboratory experience OR
• 4-year degree in a related field plus 1+ year of laboratory experience

• Prepare and process clinical specimens for testing, including accessioning, aliquoting, and tracking
• Set up, operate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory instruments
• Perform and document quality control measures (environmental, equipment, and product QC)
• Prepare reagents and maintain lab supplies and equipment
• Manage sample inventory, including receipt, storage, and disposal
• Maintain accurate data entry and update laboratory systems and databases
• Identify discrepancies and take corrective action when needed
• Support workflow improvements and assist with training staff as needed
• Follow all safety, compliance, and confidentiality protocols, including handling sensitive patient information
• Assist with general lab operations, including stocking, ordering, and maintenance

• Hands‑on laboratory experience with sample handling, chemical analysis, enzyme assays, or similar complex procedures
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage high sample volumes accurately
• Experience with laboratory instruments and automated systems
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (beyond basic data entry)
• Ability to follow strict protocols and apply critical thinking to resolve issues
• Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team environment

The anticipated wage for this position is between $36 and $47/hour. Hourly wage depends upon experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

• May require working in environments with exposure to human blood or biological materials
• Must follow all health, safety, and privacy regulations, including proper handling of protected health information
