Job summary

Periodic Labs is seeking a hands-on Lab Technician to support daily operations in a high-throughput materials facility. You will calibrate instruments, perform QC, handle materials, and help develop SOPs to ensure rigorous, reproducible research.

You’ll work closely with scientists and engineers, balancing manual precision with opportunities to automate and optimize workflows for speed and reliability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent hands-on lab experience in a technical field.
• Ability to follow SOPs with precision and maintain cleanliness.
• Comfort with manual tasks and interest in workflow automation.

Responsibilities

• Perform regular calibration and verification of instruments and sensors, keeping accurate records.
• Execute and refine QC workflows to ensure data integrity across runs.
• Handle and prepare materials with weighing, labeling, packaging, and batching.
• Assist with inventory tracking, chemical management, and lab organization.
• Collaborate to develop, document, and iterate SOPs for routine procedures.
• Identify inefficiencies and propose improvements to manual workflows.
• Support onboarding and training of new technicians on best practices and safety.
• Contribute to the development of QC/metrology protocols for new processes.
• Participate in test runs and validation of new labware, equipment, or methods.
• Troubleshoot anomalies and document findings clearly.
