Job summary

MillenniumSoft Inc. in San Jose, CA is seeking a Laboratory Technician I to support the R&D labs, performing routine maintenance, sample handling, and equipment setup. The position is a 12-month contract, 40 hours per week, first shift, with a pay rate of $18-$23 per hour.

Main duties include maintaining lab facilities, stocking supplies, and ensuring GLP/GMP compliance while supporting Systems Engineering, Reagent Development, Genomics, and related labs.

Qualifications

• BS in Biology orrelated discipline.
• Minimum 1 year experience in a GMP or GLP environment.

Responsibilities

• Maintain multiple laboratories following GLP/GMP practices and keep clean, organized spaces.
• Operate and setup laboratory equipment, and assist with sample handling and shipments.
• Record data accurately and maintain logs and inventories.
• Monitor temperatures and manage lab supplies and waste.
• Ensure safe handling of materials and maintain a clean, compliant work area.

Description

• The Laboratory Technician I will support the R&D group including but not limited to Systems Engineering, Reagent Development , Genomics and select Hardware Engineering laboratories by providing general laboratory support.
• Exercises good judgment within generally defined practices and policies in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.

Duties And Responsibilities

• Responsible for performing laboratory maintenance for multiple laboratories following good laboratory procedures including operation of a clean and efficient laboratory, documenting all work, such as, but not limited to:
• Change refrigerator chart recorder paper
• Monitor temperature of small refrigerators and freezers
• Empty laboratory recycle bins
• Organize and stock lab supplies within the labs and stockrooms
• Biohazard waste maintenance
• Maintains glassware by pick-ups, cleaning, washing and distributing
• Performs DI water daily flushes
• Monitoring the stock level of Sheath and Shutdown solutions
• Responsible for delivery, set-up, and pickup of lab equipment, lab materials and office supplies
• Performs other related duties and assignments as required

Knowledge And Skills

• Ability to perform detail-oriented work with a high degree of accuracy
• Ability to communicate clearly, including effective oral and written communication skills
• Effective multitasking capabilities
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and Powerpoint
• Demonstrated ability to keep neat, accurate and complete records and logs
• Medium work of lifting and/or pushing up to 30- 45 pounds
• Familiar with general GMP/GLP procedures with a strong focus on quality
