Job summary

The Summit Bechtel Reserve in Glen Jean, WV seeks a manager to oversee Eagle Flight, Gateway, and Legacy zips. You will train staff, ensure safe operations, and deliver quality experiences.

You will monitor gear, evaluate performance, and maintain inventories while modeling Scout values and staying compliant with policy. Ideal candidates bring zip line experience, team leadership, and a customer‑service mindset.

Qualifications

• Minimum age 21+.
• Required: BSA C.O.P.E. Direction National Camp School Card (training provided).
• 1+ yr. leading teams; Summit employment preferred.
• Documented zip line work experience.
• Willing to become a registered Scouting America member (background screening).
• Comfortable using Microsoft Teams for daily work-related communication.

Responsibilities

• Train and manage staff to ensure a safe, impactful, and fun program.
• Monitor equipment, report deficiencies, and remove unsafe gear.
• Provide periodic staff performance evaluations and disciplinary actions as needed.
• Maintain inventory control for program operations, equipment, and facilities.
• Maintain a training and practitioner experience portfolio.
• Model the Scout Oath and Law in daily interactions.
• Keep a clean, organized, inspected, neat, and safe work area.
• Perform duties assigned by SBR leadership and follow staff handbook policies.
