Job summary

Mortenson Construction is seeking a Safety Manager I to lead and support the Zero Injury Safety program across multiple project sites. The role involves directing safety professionals, training, and oversight of safety metrics while maintaining professionalism and confidentiality.

The candidate should possess a Bachelor's in safety or related field with extensive construction safety experience, and be willing to travel up to 100% to support various projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in safety, occupational health, or equivalent.
• Minimum six years of construction safety experience.
• At least six years as a dedicated construction safety professional managing project safety programs, hazard analyses, and safety training.
• CSP certification preferred
• Current driver's license
• Detail orientation to organize and manage multiple project tasks
• Ability to work in Microsoft Office and safety-related software programs
• Strong customer service and professional attitude
• Ability to travel up to 100%

Responsibilities

• Provide safety oversight and leadership for the Zero Injury Safety program across multiple project sites
• Lead project teams in developing site-specific electrical safety programs
• Identify training needs and conduct safety orientation and electrical training
• Review safety submittals and attend preconstruction meetings with subcontractors
• Provide direction and mentorship to Safety staff
• Monitor and analyze safety and OSHA statistics and reports
• Conduct work area safety audits and major incident analyses
• Oversee subcontractor safety activities and performance
