Job summary
The NBA seeks a Senior Director of YouTube Channel Strategy & Programming to lead our global YouTube content across formats. You will own the strategy, drive audience growth, and partner with Content, Media Partnerships, Finance, Legal, and YouTube to deliver scalable franchises.
You will translate platform signals into programming decisions, optimize thumbnails and metadata, and guide a data-driven testing culture to maximize engagement and retention.
Qualifications
- 10+ years of deep YouTube platform expertise.
- Proven track record of growing YouTube content at scale.
- Intuition for what makes content perform and engaging franchises.
- Strong analytical skills to translate data into strategy.
- Experience structuring creator partnerships or revenue-share programs.
- Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration.
Responsibilities
- Own and execute platform-native content strategy across longform, Shorts, live and podcasts.
- Lead new content franchises and scale successful formats.
- Drive thumbnail, title, metadata optimization and retention engineering.
- Own YouTube SEO strategy and hook-centric optimization.
- Develop Shorts-to-longform conversion to grow audiences.
- Analyze performance and guide editorial decisions with data.
