Job summary

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Delaware is seeking a part-time van driver to transport club members to and from school, ensuring safe travel and strict adherence to route schedules. Under the direction of the Program Director, you will perform daily vehicle inspections, maintain logs, assist with snack service and dismissal, and support club operations with flexible hours and a safety-first mindset.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license for 3–5 years; CDL preferred.
• Ability to pass FBI clearance and state background checks.
• Experience transporting children preferred.
• Experience working in a licensed childcare facility preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate van on schedule and designated route.
• Maintain a safe driving record.
• Assist serving snacks and perform clerical duties for dismissal.
• Maintain vehicle tracking logs daily.
• Drive safely and follow all regulations.
• Report emergencies, accidents, injuries, and safety hazards.
• Advise club director on safety and route improvements.
• Perform daily vehicle inspections and log results.
• Conduct pre-trip inspections and post-trip walkarounds.
• Implement safety procedures with Program Director.
• Maintain van logs and related paperwork.
