Job summary

Boys & Girls Clubs of Delaware invites applications for a part-time Van Driver to transport club members to and from school and assist in after-school activities. The role emphasizes safety, adherence to routes, and coordination with the Program Director and childcare staff.

The position requires a valid license, clean driving record, ability to operate a 10-passenger van, and willingness to pass required background checks. Experience in licensed childcare is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Valid driver’s license for 3–5 points on driving record; CDL preferred.
• Must pass FBI clearance, State of Delaware Criminal History Background Check, National and State Sexual Abuse Registry check, and National and State Child Abuse Registry Check per DelaCare regulations.
• Ability to operate a 10 passenger van
• An understanding of all current state and local regulations
• Flexibility as to the hours and schedule of work
• Experience transporting children preferred.
• Experience working in a licensed childcare facility preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate van on schedule and within designated route.
• Maintain a safe driving record.
• Assist serving snack for after-school program and related clerical duties.
• Maintain vehicle tracking logs daily.
• Operate van in a safe manner, abiding by all regulations.
• Report emergencies, accidents, injuries, and hazards to management.
• Advise director on safety and route improvements.
• Perform daily pre-trip inspections and maintain logs.
• Maintain van logs and required paperwork.
