Job summary

Indy is seeking a Training and Staff Development Coordinator to lead the Marion Superior Court Youth Services Center Training Department. The role oversees onboarding, field training, certifications, continuing education, staff development, and leadership development.

You will supervise Field Training Officers, coordinate curricula, and ensure training standards are applied consistently. Strong leadership and communication skills are essential for improving staff performance and retention.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in criminal justice, education, organizational leadership, public administration, or a related field.
• Five years of progressively responsible experience in juvenile justice, corrections, residential youth services, or similar environments with training and supervision.
• Must obtain instructor-level certification in First Aid/CPR, Handle With Care (HWC), and Mental Health First Aid (MHFA).
• Must be able to work any shift, including evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and direction to the Training Department, including priorities, goals, expectations, and schedules.
• Directly supervise Field Training Officers, including assignments, timecard/leave approval, coaching, and evaluations.
• Oversee New Employee Orientation and Field Training/On-the-Job Training, including competency assessments and readiness for independent assignments.
• Develop and maintain the annual facility training plan and ensure required training, certifications, and continuing education across all shifts.
• Coordinate training related to new policies, procedures, systems, equipment, and facility initiatives.
