Job summary

City of Indianapolis and Marion County seeks an experienced training and accreditation supervisor to oversee front-line team development within the MCCC training division. You will select, review, and implement training programs, supporting multimedia course development and staff professional development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in criminal justice, Business Management, or related field and one year of experience working in corrections or the criminal justice system.
• In lieu of degree a combination of education, training, and experience may be utilized.
• Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
• Skilled in establishing cost effective programs and quality control.
• Requires knowledge in leadership, management, personnel and process performance measurement, investigative principles and practices used in ensuring compliance with appropriate state and federal laws, regulations and requirements of court evidence, and training.
• Must be able to advise and assist team-members and the public in all aspects of the agency.
• Must be able to interface with the public regarding procedures.
• Must be able to interpret and explain court decisions to clients, others, municipal boards, committees, and managers.
• Emotional intelligence when dealing with people of all backgrounds.
• Knowledge and use of Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the daily work activities and performance of team members.
• Assist with personnel processes including recruitment, promotion, disciplinary actions, and staffing assessments.
• Address internal and external issues through investigation, fact-finding, interviews, and analysis.
• Assign job responsibilities to new team members across case management, operations, processing, and custody.
• Meet regularly with supervisors to recommend agency or program changes.
• Implement, update, and enforce agency policies, procedures, standards, and legal requirements.
• Ensure adherence to evidence-based practices for Community Corrections.
• Prepare and maintain statistical data and reports for evaluating program and department performance.
• Design, develop, and teach training classes for MCCC and public safety partners.
• Communicate clearly and effectively across all levels of employees and partners.
