Job summary

The Mountain Island Library is part of the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Library system in Charlotte, NC. The Library Associate will help create welcoming youth programs for ages 0-11, assist with circulation, and provide high-quality service to diverse customers in a busy public library setting.

You will deliver engaging programming, maintain displays, and collaborate with staff on outreach and program reports, ensuring excellent customer experiences for families and caregivers.

Qualifications

• Minimum of two years of public library, retail, or customer service experience.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Combination of relevant education and relevant experience accepted? Yes

Responsibilities

• Create and deliver programs to children ages 0-11
• Perform circulation activities
• Provide service desk coverage
• Prepare program reports
• Provide research assistance to customers
• Train and assist customers on library policies and procedures
• Maintain library materials and displays
• Assist with volunteer management
• Collaborate with Marketing and Communications on program materials
