Job summary

The Camden County Library System is seeking an enthusiastic Youth Services Librarian (Librarian 1 or 2) to plan and present youth programming, including story time and early literacy initiatives, and to serve patrons both in person and online.

This role involves reference and readers advisory, helping users at the circ desk, assisting with computers, collaborating with schools and community groups, and supporting collection development in the Birth through Teen section.

Qualifications

• MLS or Candidacy from ALA-accredited program or NJ equivalent.
• NJ Professional Librarian Certificate or ability to obtain on hire.
• Experience or strong interest in youth services and programming.

Responsibilities

• Develop and present youth services programming, including story time and early literacy initiatives.
• Provide reference and readers advisory services to all ages.
• Answer questions in-person, over the phone, and by email.
• Assist customers on public computers and with technology resources.
• Participate in collection development and maintenance for the youth section.
• Outreach to schools and community organizations.
• Assist at the circulation desk as needed.
• Will may be scheduled at other Library facilities and act as Person-in-Charge when required.
