Job summary

VisionQuest is seeking an Assistant Direct Care Service Manager (Assistant Lead Supervisor) to support the Youth Care Worker department and oversee program operations during evenings, overnights, and weekends.

This role provides hands-on support on the floor, ensures safety, compliance, and effective communication across shifts, and reports to the Lead Supervisor. Strong leadership and trauma-informed care are essential to success.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; advanced degree preferred.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in child welfare, youth care, or related field.
• Supervisory or leadership experience preferred.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct support to the Lead Supervisor in managing the Youth Care Worker (YCW) department.
• Assist with shift oversight, ensuring appropriate staff-to-youth ratios and regulatory compliance.
• Be on-site to engage with youth and staff, maintaining a safe, positive environment.
• Guide Shift Supervisors and YCWs during shifts, especially in challenging situations.
• Coordinate recreational outings, events and holiday activities.
• Assist in recruitment, onboarding and ongoing training of YCWs.
• Develop training materials and support training sessions for staff readiness.
• Mentor Shift Supervisors to enhance leadership and operational skills.
• Facilitate regular check-ins with Supervisors to discuss performance and schedules.
• Serve as scheduling contact for adjustments, callouts, and time-off requests.
• Collaborate with Lead Supervisor to ensure consistent communication across shifts.
• Participate on the floor during operations and emergencies, ensuring safety and compliance.
• Support documentation and reporting of incidents as required.
• Maintain collaboration with Youth Care Workers, Case Management, Clinical, and Program Directors.
