Job summary

South Sound YMCA is seeking a Behavioral Support Liaison for School Aged Childcare (SACC) to assess and support children with complex needs. This role collaborates with YMCA staff, school district specialists, and families to implement behavior mitigation strategies and promote positive engagement in Y Care and Seasonal Day Camps.

The position emphasizes observation, data-backed decisions, conflict resolution, and a culture of Belonging, Achievement, and Relationships aligned with Y Core Values.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of behavior management strategies for school-age children.
• Experience with using behavioral observation tools to support mitigation and management.
• Understanding of SEL concepts and routines used in after-school settings.

Responsibilities

• Conduct behavioral assessments and provide consultation to YMCA staff for children with complex needs.
• Develop and deliver training materials for behavior support across sites.
• Maintain records including incident reports and progress notes and provide referrals as needed.
• Foster positive relationships with staff, families, and school personnel; ensure safety and health standards.
