Job summary

YMCA of Greater San Francisco seeks a Student Behavior Support Specialist for the Tenderloin Community School YMCA After School Program. Under the Program Site Director, you will build positive relationships with students, support emotional regulation, and help students engage in activities.

Collaborate with YMCA and school staff to sustain a safe, inclusive environment. Responsibilities include supporting students during transitions, using restorative approaches, and communicating observations

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• 2 years of experience with youth in schools, afterschool, or community settings.
• Knowledge of positive behavior supports, restorative practices, conflict resolution.

Responsibilities

• Provide proactive and responsive support to students needing behavioral or social-emotional assistance.
• Build strong, consistent relationships with students.
• Use restorative practices and de-escalation strategies to support student engagement.
• Communicate needs and follow up with program leadership and school partners.
