Job summary

The City of St. Charles seeks a Recreation Supervisor II to plan, coordinate and evaluate youth recreation programs, special events and cultural activities. The role supports day camp operations and ensures inclusive, safe and engaging experiences for participants.

Under the Recreation Coordinator, you will supervise staff, manage program logistics, and assist with administrative duties, marketing, and budgeting. Evening and weekend work may be required to support programs and events.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Recreation, Parks Management or related field.
• Two years of recreation programming and supervisory experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Plan, develop, organize, conduct, supervise and evaluate youth recreation programs and other assigned recreational activities.
• Assist with planning, staffing, implementation and evaluation of Summer Fun Day Camp, special events and cultural programs.
• Develop and recommend new recreation programs based on community interests, participation trends and departmental goals.
• Coordinate efficient use of staff, facilities, equipment and supplies; maintain program schedules and registration information using departmental software.
• Promote participation by people of all abilities and work with Inclusion Coordinator to support staff training, accommodations and resources.
• Evaluate program operations and facilities and recommend improvements to quality, accessibility, safety and customer service.
• Ensure compliance with applicable health, safety and operational standards and maintain required program records.
