Job summary

The City of St. Louis is seeking a Program Manager II (Recreation) in the Recreation Division to plan, coordinate, and oversee all recreational programming at City recreation centers in St. Louis, MO. You will supervise staff and coordinate with partners to ensure effective operations of centers and pools.

Responsibilities include directing subordinates, managing daily operations, and attending meetings with the Commissioner of Recreation to align programs with city priorities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Recreation Management, Sports Management, or related field, or equivalent education/experience.
• Minimum of 3 years supervising or monitoring recreation programs.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and oversee all recreational programming at City Recreation Centers.
• Supervise Program Manager I, supervisors, lifeguards and staff.
• Report to the Commissioner on daily operations including pools.
• Collaborate with private organizations on budgets, staffing, and building needs.
• Schedule and attend division/ward/neighborhood meetings.
• Set performance evaluation standards and assess subordinates.
• Develop and revise policies to improve program effectiveness.
• Resolve employee problems and provide training as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
