Job summary

The Long Beach Unified School District seeks a part-time Playground and ELO-P Assistant to provide a safe, engaging environment for students in the Expanded Learning Opportunities Program (ELO-P) at a Lakewood site. Under supervision, you will organize activities, monitor behavior, and help with snack times and field trips.

This role requires the ability to communicate clearly with students, staff and families, enforce district rules, and perform light clerical tasks.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children in an instructional, expanded learning or similar program is desirable.
• CPR/First Aid certification within six months of employment.
• Ability to communicate effectively and follow procedures.

Responsibilities

• Organize and oversee playground and off-campus activities.
• Promote safety and good citizenship during activities.
• Monitor and maintain discipline among students.
• Assist with snack and meal times, and field trips.
• Communicate with staff about events and incidents.
• Perform routine housekeeping and clerical tasks.
• Attend meetings and trainings.
