Job summary

YMCA of San Diego County is seeking a Youth Leader – ELOP to supervise participants after school and support daily activity planning. You will work with families, school personnel, and partners to promote academic achievement and healthy choices.

This role requires high energy, strong mentoring desire, and the ability to lead age-appropriate activities. Schedule: Mon-Thu 1:30pm-6pm, Fri 11am-6pm; background checks and CPR/First Aid are required.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older and have a HS diploma/GED.
• AA/AS degree or 48 college units or passing the district proficiency exam may be required.
• Fingerprint clearance from DOJ/FBI is required prior to working.
• TB test clearance within 60 days prior to employment.
• Completion of Child Abuse Prevention training prior to working with participants.
• CPR/AED and First Aid Certification from an approved organization within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Actively supervise program participants and ensure safety at all times.
• Assist in planning and implementing age-appropriate activities.
• Communicate positively with participants, families, school staff, and partners.
• Collaborate with school personnel to align quality academic activities.
• Provide positive behavior guidance supporting students' development.
• Ensure compliance with school district and YMCA requirements.
• Maintain a clean, safe program space.
• Respond to incidents with appropriate safety actions.
• Lead sports, games, and curriculum activities; supervise youth behavior.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
