Job summary

Long Beach Unified School District is seeking a dedicated Playground Supervisor to oversee Expanded Learning Opportunities Program (ELO-P) activities, ensuring a safe and engaging environment for students. The role involves supervising playgrounds, organizing games, snack times, and field trips while enforcing district rules and safety standards.

The incumbent will maintain discipline, coordinate with school staff, and assist with basic clerical tasks.

Qualifications

• CPR and first-aid certification is required within six months of employment.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to organize and supervise recreational activities for students.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Familiarity with district safety policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Organize and oversee playground and ELO-P activities and related events.
• Maintain discipline and safe conduct during activities and meals.
• Promote safety and citizenship; monitor behavior and report hazards.
• Communicate with staff and families regarding events and incidents.
• Perform incidental housekeeping and clerical tasks as needed.
• Provide first aid or assistance to ill or distressed students.
• Attend meetings and training programs.
