Job summary

The City of Baltimore is seeking a Unit Supervisor for the Youth Works program. This customer service leadership role oversees 60–100 worksites employing 700–1,000 youth and ensures compliance with policies and procedures.

You will supervise staff, recruit opportunities, review applications, conduct site visits, and coordinate program events. A high school diploma and 3 years in youth services and supervision are required; Maryland driver’s license is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least three years of experience in the human services field with youth programs.
• At least three years of supervisory experience.
• At least three years of customer service experience.
• Must upload a copy of a valid Maryland Class C Noncommercial driver’s license; provisional licenses not acceptable.
• Must upload a copy of your valid driver’s license with the application.

Responsibilities

• Manage and supervise unit staff, ensuring adherence to policies and procedures.
• Lead trainings, meetings, and ongoing coaching for staff.
• Identify and recruit quality virtual and in-person work opportunities for youth.
• Review and approve worksite applications, work plans, and job descriptions.
• Assist youth and worksites with completion of Youthworks applications.
• Commute to worksite partner locations to conduct site visits and ensure safe, compliant environments.
• Coordinate and facilitate program-related events (registrations, job fairs, community events).
• Visit worksite locations to distribute YouthWorks materials.
• Resolve, document, and file all youth and worksite concerns and issues.
• Oversee and manage youth timesheet and payroll processing; resolve payroll-related issues.
• Communicate YouthWorks program information to youth, worksites, and stakeholders.
• Represent the Agency and customer service philosophy with integrity.
• Perform other related work assignments as directed
