Job summary

The City of Baltimore's Mayor's Office of Employment Development seeks Unit Supervisors to manage youth programs across 60–100 worksites, overseeing 700–1,000 youths and staff compliance with policies.

You will recruit and approve work opportunities, visit sites for safety, coordinate events, and handle payroll and timesheets while maintaining strong customer service and confidentiality.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• At least three years of experience in human services with youth programs; supervisory experience required.
• At least three years of customer service experience.
• Valid Maryland Class C Noncommercial driver's license or equivalent; eligible for Baltimore City driver’s permit. Upload copy with application.

Responsibilities

• Manage and supervise unit staff, ensuring adherence to policies and procedures.
• Lead trainings, meetings, and ongoing coaching for staff.
• Identify and recruit quality virtual and in-person work opportunities for youth.
• Review and approve worksite applications, work plans, and job descriptions.
• Assist youth and worksites with Youthworks applications.
• Conduct site visits to ensure a safe, compliant work environment.
• Coordinate and facilitate program events such as registrations and job fairs.
• Oversee timesheets and payroll processing; resolve payroll issues.
• Communicate YouthWorks program information to youth, worksites, and stakeholders.
• Represent the agency with integrity and uphold customer service philosophy.
• Perform other related work assignments as directed.
