Job summary

YMCA of Orange County seeks a Full-Time Assistant Director for the John H Eader Elementary YMCA in Huntington Beach, CA. You will lead high-quality youth development programs, mentor staff, and ensure safe, engaging environments for children aged 5-12.

This is a mission-driven leadership role with a focus on hospitality, community impact, and program excellence. Responsibilities include program operations, staff evaluations, safety compliance, and building partnerships with parents and school

Qualifications

• Experience working with children (ages 5-12) in after-school/camp/daycare settings.
• CPR and First Aid certification (YMCA paid for).
• 12 college units (6 in Child Development and 6 in a related field) + 3 admin units or enrollment within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Mentor children and staff; oversee program operations and staff evaluations.
• Ensure licensing Title 22 compliance and YMCA safety protocols.
• Build relationships with parents, school reps, and the Parent Advisory Council.
