Job summary

YMCA of Orange County in Huntington Beach is seeking a Full-Time Assistant Director to advance high-quality youth development programs and strengthen community impact. The role emphasizes mentorship, safety, and collaboration with parents and schools, ensuring a welcoming, enriching environment for children aged 5-12.

The assistant director leads program operations, oversees staff evaluations, and supports fundraising campaigns while upholding core YMCA values and licensing requirements.

Qualifications

• Minimum age 18+ and experience with children (ages 5-12) in after-school, camp, or daycare settings.
• 12 college units (6 in Child Development and 6 in a related field) + 3 units in Administration or enrolled within 6 months and completed within 1 year.
• CPR and First Aid Certification (YMCA funded).

Responsibilities

• Mentor children and staff; oversee program operations and staff evaluations.
• Maintain a clean, safe facility by enforcing licensing Title 22 regulations and YMCA safety protocols.
• Build relationships with parents, school representatives, and the Parent Advisory Council.
• Lead by example with Caring, Honesty, Respect, and Responsibility.
• Support the annual YMCA campaign and cover the Director's absence to ensure seamless service.
