Job summary

The YMCA of Orange County is seeking engaged, intentional teachers to lead a group of children through after-school programming at the Costa Mesa location. This part-time role runs 1:30 pm to 6:00 pm and offers a welcoming, supportive environment aligned with YMCA values.

Responsibilities include guiding ages 5–12 through STEM, arts, and homework activities; fostering social-emotional growth; and partnering with families to ensure each child’s success.

Qualifications

• Must be 18+ years old.
• Experience working with children in after-school, camp, or daycare settings.
• Assistant role requires HS diploma (experience preferred).
• Teacher 1 requires 6 CD units and continuous enrollment toward 12 units.
• Teacher 2 requires 12 CD units (6 months experience).
• Teacher 3 requires 12 college units (6 in CD/Education) + 1 year experience.

Position Type: Part Time

Salary Range: $16.90 - $20.45 per hour

Work Schedule: Part-time, 1:30 pm – 6:00 pm
