Job summary

The YMCA seeks a dedicated program coordinator to develop and implement youth development, healthy living and social responsibility activities within the community. You will collaborate with staff to plan engaging programs and ensure safety and inclusivity.

Responsibilities include supervising part-time staff, maintaining certifications, coordinating partnerships, and reporting on program outcomes while supporting families and diverse participants.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent.
• Two to three years related programming experience in a non-profit environment preferred.
• Minimum age requirements of 21 years old.
• Prefer knowledge of, and previous experience with, diverse populations.
• Ability to establish and maintain collaborations with community organizations.
• Ability to communicate effectively (written and oral) with children and adults.
• Desire to work with children and families and the ability to relate to them in a positive, patient, sensitive and non-judgmental manner.
• Typical requirements within 30 days of hire include completion of Compliance and safety training, CPR, First Aid and AED certifications.

Responsibilities

• Supervise part-time non-exempt employees, including interviewing, hiring, and training.
• Plan, assign, and direct work; review and approve timesheets; appraise performance.
• Monitor and update staff certifications and address complaints.
• Use Microsoft Office tools to develop reports and automate procedures.
• Travel locally between centers as needed during the business day.
