Job summary

YMCA of Montclair is seeking a Program Coordinator to plan, manage and supervise School Age Childcare programs and a summer camp across multiple sites in Montclair, NJ. This full-time hourly role supports curriculum development, staff supervision, and budget oversight to ensure quality programs.

You will ensure safety and licensing compliance, foster community partnerships, and lead camp planning with a focus on developmentally appropriate activities and strong customer service.

Qualifications

• 2-4 years Youth Development experience required.
• Prior staff supervision and program curriculum experience preferred.
• Must have CPR/AED and First Aid Certification or be certified within 90 days of employment.
• Driver’s License required with ability to commute to multiple sites daily.
• Clear Criminal Background check clearance.
• Knowledge of YMCA core values: Caring, Honesty, Respect, Responsibility.

Responsibilities

• Plan, implement and supervise a developmentally and academically appropriate curriculum for School Age Childcare and Camp programs.
• Assist in developing annual operating objectives and plans for School Age Childcare and Camp.
• Monitor the department budget to ensure a positive fiscal position.
• Recruit, hire, train, supervise and evaluate staff in SACC and Camp programs.
• Develop, coordinate and evaluate program curricula for SACC and Camp.
• Ensure program safety standards and licensing compliance at all times.
• Provide coverage to childcare sites to maintain regulatory compliance.
• Build relationships with school districts and partners.
• Lead camp planning and support special projects.
• Maintain a safe work environment and adhere to safety procedures.
