Job summary

YMCA of Greater Houston is seeking a proactive Program Staff member to support youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility within the membership and community. You will follow standard procedures under supervision, helping deliver high-quality programs and engaging members of all ages.

Responsibilities include assisting the Program Director with staff onboarding, ensuring safety standards, coordinating events, and contributing to marketing and scheduling.

Qualifications

• Previous customer service, program delivery or related experience.
• Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office products.
• Ability to communicate effectively (written and oral) with children and adults.
• Desire to work with children and families and relate to them positively and patiently.
• Ability to connect with people of diverse backgrounds.
• Minimum age of 18 years.
• CPR, First Aid, AED certifications and Child Abuse prevention trainings.

Responsibilities

• Actively works within assigned program area to develop member relationships and improve engagement.
• Participates in program events, meetings and trainings.
• Supports the Program Director to ensure compliance with YMCA standards and track staff certifications.
• Monitors and evaluates program delivery and plans activity schedules.
• Assists with interviewing, onboarding and training new staff; may help with staff schedules.
• Executes new program initiatives and helps create marketing materials and program records.
