Job summary

YMCA of Metropolitan Los Angeles is seeking an Instructor for youth programs. You will create nurturing relationships with children, teach curricula focused on skill mastery, and promote achievement and belonging within families.

Responsibilities include supervising a group of children, applying positive behavior strategies, engaging parents, and upholding safety, ADA compliance, and YMCA policies. This role requires 18+ and a high school diploma, with opportunities to develop leadership

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; college coursework in youth development preferred.
• Experience with school-age children in group settings preferred.
• Ability to plan and lead age-appropriate activities.

Responsibilities

• Nurture children through purposeful programming and build belonging.
• Supervise group to ensure safety and supervise according to ratios.
• Plan and implement activities focused on specific topics.
• Engage parents and volunteers, maintain communication.
• Ensure safety, cleanliness, and program records as per YMCA policies.
