Job summary

YMCA of Metropolitan Los Angeles is seeking an Instructor for youth programs who will guide children in PLAY activities and help them master specific skills. The role focuses on fostering achievement, belonging, and strong peer relationships within school communities.

The candidate should have a high school diploma or equivalent, experience with school-age children, and current EMSA First Aid and CPR certifications. Training on child abuse prevention is required before start.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working with school-age children in a group setting.
• Ability to plan, organize and implement age-appropriate activities.
• Ability to develop positive relationships with people from different backgrounds.
• Current EMSA First Aid certification and CPR (Adult, Infant, Child).
• Completion of child abuse prevention training before first day.

Responsibilities

• Provides direction to children in PLAY programs and teaches a curriculum focused on mastering specific skills.
• Promotes a quality experience that emphasizes achievement, belonging and healthy peer relationships.
• Builds positive relationships with parents/caregivers, staff and partners.
