Job summary

The Boulder YMCA is seeking a School Age Program/Summer Day Camp Program Aide to help deliver engaging activities for children under direct supervision. You will assist in guiding behavior, ensuring safety, and providing a quality experience for children and families alongside lead staff.

This part‑time role requires punctuality, attendance at trainings, and adherence to YMCA policies, with a focus on confidentiality and respectful communication with parents and staff.

Qualifications

• Must be a minimum of 16 years old.
• Experience working with children ages 5-18 preferred.
• Knowledge of age appropriate practices for working with children grades K-5.
• Maturity to make practical decisions under the direct supervision of other staff.
• Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.
• Typical requirements within 30 days of hire include completion of: Child Abuse Prevention for Supervisory Staff; CPR; First Aid; AED; Bloodborne Pathogens.

Responsibilities

• Support in running program activities and guide children to positive behavior choices under supervision.
• Adhere to program standards including safety, licensing and health department standards.
• Follow YMCA policies and procedures related to medical and disciplinary situations, child abuse prevention and emergencies.
• Maintain positive relations with parents and other staff and model professional interactions.
• Attend staff meetings and trainings (completes all training home requirements).
