Youth Advocate Programs, Inc. in Maine is seeking an Assistant Director to support the Maine Advocate Program Director with hiring and training new staff, supervising teams, and communicating weekly performance to the Director.

The role involves intakes, staffing co- ordination, and ensuring service delivery meets weekly hours while maintaining compliance with YAP and referring authorities. A background in child welfare, mental health, and budgeting concepts is preferred; evenings and weekends

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree generally preferred; commensurate experience in community-based agencies accepted.
• At least one-year experience managing personnel and budgets.
• Experience with at-risk youth, probation, court liaison is a plus.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; EHR experience is a plus.
• Requires reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and current auto insurance.
• Bilingual (Spanish) is a plus.
• Flexible Schedule; Evenings and Weekends may be needed.

Responsibilities

• Perform intakes and coordinate participant staffing to deliver weekly service hours while ensuring compliance with all YAP requirements.
• Support the Program Director with hiring, training, supervision, and weekly performance reporting.
• Direct service coverage as needed and provide staff and family support.
• Demonstrate knowledge of child welfare, mental health, juvenile justice, and budgeting concepts.
• Exercise creativity and proactive planning to fulfill program goals.
