The Police Athletic League, Inc. is seeking an Outreach Specialist for the PAL Beacon program in Far Rockaway, NYC.

Plan and execute outreach to chronically absent and disconnected youth through schools, faith-based and community organizations, and local leaders. Responsibilities include building partnerships with diverse groups, street outreach to raise Beacon visibility, coordinating referrals to wraparound services, mentoring youth to boost attendance, and reporting to the Beacon Director.

Qualifikationen

• High school diploma required; associate's degree preferred.
• Knowledge of and history with Far Rockaway community preferred; bilingual is a plus.
• 1–2 years of street outreach, youth development or related experience required.
• Demonstrated ability to work in diverse, ethnically and culturally varied environments.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to engage staff, youth and communities.

Aufgaben

• Plan and execute outreach to chronically absent/disconnected youth via community partners.
• Build relationships with local groups to recruit diverse participants, including at-risk youth.
• Conduct street outreach and promote PAL Beacon accessibility beyond the school campus.
• Coordinate referrals to wraparound services with the Leadership team.
• Provide mentorship to youth to encourage Beacon attendance and school engagement.
• Submit reports to the Beacon Director and PAL management; attend trainings and development activities.
• Maintain effective working relationships with program staff and partners.
