Job summary

YMCA of Southwestern NC is seeking a part-time Family Engagement Coordinator at our Sampson facility to lead Child Watch, assist the preschool team, and plan youth programs for families. You’ll recruit and supervise staff, coordinate birthday parties, and help grow community involvement while upholding YMCA values.

You’ll work closely with a supportive team to ensure a welcoming environment, safety, and high-quality programming for children and families in our community.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• College credits toward Human Services, Recreation, Physical Education, or related field, or at least one year of related experience.
• CPR and First Aid certifications within six months of hire.
• Flexible schedule and valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and supervise Child Watch, birthday parties, and related programs to meet YMCA objectives and safety standards.
• Recruit, hire, train, supervise, develop, and schedule department staff and volunteers.
• Conduct staff meetings to support communication and YMCA mission.
• Provide direct coverage in Child Watch when needed.
• Deliver excellent service and respond to member inquiries and complaints.
