Job summary

YMCA of Southeastern NC is seeking a part-time Family Engagement Coordinator at the Sampson facility to lead Child Watch, support preschool teams, and plan birthday parties and youth programs. You’ll recruit and supervise staff, ensure safety, and promote inclusivity to help families feel welcome and connected.

You will manage schedules, assist with payroll and evaluations, and contribute to campaigns and community events while modeling YMCA core values in a welcoming environment.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• College credits toward Human Services, Recreation, Physical Education, or related field (or related experience).
• CPR and First Aid certifications within six months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and supervise Child Watch, birthday parties, Kids’ Night Out, and related programs.
• Recruit, hire, train, supervise, develop, and schedule department employees and volunteers.
• Conduct regular staff meetings to support communication, engagement, retention, and the YMCA mission.
• Provide direct coverage in Child Watch when needed.
• Deliver excellent service, build relationships, and respond promptly to member inquiries and complaints.
• Assist with department payroll approval and annual performance reviews.
