Job summary

MLCS is seeking a Community Engagement Development Assistant to support weekly Friday Kickback programming and assist with larger neighborhood events. The role supports youth engagement and works with the youth team to plan and facilitate activities for ages 6-12, including budgeting and sponsorship coordination.

You will collaborate with MLCS partners and staff, submit sponsorship requests, manage the Kickback budget, help secure materials, coordinate event logistics, and ensure safe, engaging

Qualifications

  • High-school diploma or equivalent.
  • Community-driven and enthusiastic about working with community members.
  • Ability to manage a program budget and support fundraising efforts via sponsorship requests.
  • Interest in arts, culture and creating enriching and creative spaces.
  • Willingness to learn and grow within the team.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

Responsibilities

  • Co-leading weekly team huddles with community engagement teen employees and setting goals for the week.
  • Working with MLCS’ partners, staff, and various departments to amplify the impacts of Kickbacks.
  • Regular outreach and representation on behalf of MLCS youth programming and Kickbacks.
  • Budget management, sending sponsorship requests, and the handling of organizational debit card.
