Job summary

Maverick Landing Community Services (MLCS) seeks an HW Drop-In Teen Assistant for its S.T.E.A.M programs in East Boston. This part-time seasonal position supports weekly Wednesday drop-ins, homework help, college application and resume assistance, and youth mentorship.

Compensation is $15–$17 per hour for 6–8 hours per week. End date is December 23, 2026; schedule is Monday–Friday 11am–7pm with occasional Saturdays, and supervision from the Youth Programs Coordinator.

This is a seasonal position with an end-date of December 23, 2026.

Schedule: Office hours are Monday-Friday from 11am-7pm and shifts will take place within these windows plus occassional Saturday shifts opportunities

Maverick Landing Community Services (MLCS)is a multi-service organization in the heart of the Maverick Landing housing development in East Boston. Our mission is to build a faircommunity by uplifting and supporting families, promoting community health, and nurturing resident and youth leadership & creativity.We do this by offering wrap around resident services, adult education classes such as ESOL and digital literacy, robust youth and family programming, weekly food distributions, and housing advocacy and support.

Our team is looking to hire a HW Drop-In Teen Assistant to assist in program facilitation andcoordination in our weekly S.T.E.A.M programming.

This role will work alongside MLCS’ Youth Programs Assistant to facilitate a 1x/week Wednesday drop-in sessions that focuses on providing opportunities for teen students to receive homework help, college application and resume support, and incidental work. The HW Drop-InTeen Assistant will act as a trusted peer mentor to youth participants, supporting group set-up and clean-up, facilitation, and outreach, as well as other program deliverables. MLCS’sS.T.E.A.M programming acts as an opportunity for community members to create a space where young people can come to learn new skills, work on long term creative projects, and nurture a safe community.

This role will work to help lead a weekly drop-in session offered to teen participants to give space to opportunities for healthy social gathering and exposure to professional development opportunities. The HW Drop-In Teen Assistant should be interested in supporting healthy peer‑to‑peer relationships and developing or strengthening their technical skills. This role comes with the opportunity to learn about career development and different applications and software. The HW Drop-in Teen Assistant will have access to a wide array of technologies like laser printers, Risograph printers and 3D printing machines to create creative projects with the community. The HW Drop-in team will occasionally collaborate with other youth teams on larger events and celebrations

The HW Drop-in Teen Assistant will report to our Youth Programs Coordinator and will work alongside and receive supervision from the Youth Programs Assistant.
