Job summary

Maverick Landing Community Services (MLCS) in East Boston is seeking an Art Workshops Teen Assistant to help facilitate weekly arts programs for youth aged 10-21. You will assist in workshop setup, coordinate materials, and support the artist-in-residence in delivering engaging sessions.

This seasonal role includes collaboration with peer mentors, outreach, and representing MLCS in community events. Shifts run Tue/Thu with afterschool hours, primarily within 11am–7pm window; end date December

• Outreach and representation on behalf of MLCS youth programming and Arts Workshops.

Job description

This is a seasonal position with an end-date of December 23, 2026.

Schedule:

Office hours are Monday-Friday from 11am-7pm and shifts will take place within these windows plus Occassional Saturday shifts to cover alternating week events

Compensation:

$15-17 per hour

Maverick Landing Community Services (MLCS) is a multi-service organization in the heart of theMaverick Landing housing development in East Boston. Our mission is to build a fair community by uplifting and supporting families, promoting community health, and nurturing resident and youth leadership & creativity. We do this by offering wrap around resident services, adult education classes such as ESOL and digital literacy, robust youth and family programming, weekly food distributions, and housing advocacy and support.

Our team is looking to hire an Art Workshops Teen Assistant to assist in program facilitation and coordination in our weekly art programming.

This role will work alongside MLCS' artist-in-residence on workshops targeted towards young people ages 10-21, acting as a trusted peer mentor to youth participants, supporting workshop set-up and clean-up, facilitation, and outreach, as well as other program deliverables. MLCS art programming acts as an opportunity for community members to create a space where young people can come to learn new skills, work on long term creative projects, and nurture a creative community.

This role will use creative technologies like laser printers, Risograph printers and 3D printing machines in addition to a variety of art styles to create creative projects with the community. Likewise, the Arts workshop team will collaborate with other youth teams on larger events and celebrations The Art Workshops Teen Assistant will report to our Youth Programs Coordinator and will work alongside and receive supervision from MLCS Artist-in-Residence
